Princeton Road Liberty Township: A Major Upgrade to Ease Congestion and Improve Safety

The Princeton Road corridor in Liberty Township is set to undergo significant improvements aimed at reducing congestion and enhancing safety benefits for commuters and residents alike. The much-needed upgrades will involve the installation of a roundabout and the replacement of an adjacent bridge, all thanks to a collaborative effort between federal, state, and local authorities.

As part of this ambitious project, Princeton Road will be closed temporarily between Lesourdsville West Chester Road and Yankee Road, as well as Mauds Hughes Road between Millikin Road and Hamilton Mason Road. However, access will continue to be maintained for local residents and traffic, ensuring that the community remains connected throughout the construction period.

The good news is that motorists can still navigate through the area via alternative routes. Westbound Princeton Road will remain open to the north leg of Mauds Hughes Road, while southbound Mauds Hughes Road from Millikin Road will be accessible up to eastbound Princeton Road.

The project, which has been funded by the Ohio Department of Transportation, Ohio Public Works Commission, Butler County Engineer's Office, and Liberty Township, is expected to alleviate congestion on one of Butler County's busiest roadways. The improvements will not only enhance safety but also boost economic growth in the region.

During construction, the intersection of Princeton Road and the south leg of Mauds Hughes Road will be closed. To minimize disruptions, utility work will begin prior to the road closure, with flaggers directing traffic. Motorists are advised to expect delays on Monday, April 3, and Tuesday, April 4.

The Butler County Engineer's Office has confirmed that Princeton Road will close at the intersection of Mauds Hughes Road (south leg) and approximately 500 feet east of Gregory Creek, starting Wednesday, April 5, 2023. The project is scheduled to be completed in early November 2023.

With Rack & Ballauer Excavating Co., Inc. securing the lowest bid of $4,630,394 for the construction work, residents can rest assured that the project will be carried out efficiently and effectively. The Liberty Township community can look forward to a safer and more convenient commute once the improvements are complete.
